Situated amongst the cobblestone roads and overlapping maple trees, this family home was in need of some TLC. After years of minimal maintenance, this original 3 bedroom property was completely gutted, re configured and fitted out to perfection to suit the lifestyle of this young family.

 

Many areas of the existing floorplan simply served no purpose and so the floorplan was modified, allowing for an open plan kitchen, dining and living area along with a tucked away rumpus room perfect for children going into their teenage years.

An additional 4th bedroom/study inhabited the previous formal dining area and a mudroom and walk in pantry were all designed into the new floorplan.

 

I was proud to see that my clients were happy to take a risk with design, by including dark joinery in the kitchen and bold tiles in the wet areas which emphasized texture and pattern.

 

This project wasn’t shy of storage with all new floor to ceiling wardrobes, ample laundry cupboards and a unique L shaded island. The walk-in pantry included a bar nook visible from the kitchen while all other pantry items remained out of sight.

It was extremely satisfying to see how this dated home was transformed into a contemporary and functional forever home for my beautiful clients.
